Ho ascoltato per la prima volta la canzone "Why try to change me now" in un episodio del DR. House e me ne sono innamorato. Poi ho acquistato il disco, uno dei più belli che io abbia mai ascoltato, grazie alla musica ma soprattutto alla splendida performance di tutte le cantanti coinvolte. Meraviglioso

I'm sentimental so I walk in the rain
I've got some habits even I can't explain
Could start for the corner, turn up in Spain
But why try to change me now?
I sit and daydream, I've got daydreams galore
Cigarette ashes, there they go on the floor
I'll go away weekends, leave my keys in the door
But why try to change me now?
Why can't I be more conventional
People talk, people stare, so I try
But that's not for me, 'cause I can't see
My kind of crazy world go passing me by
So let people wonder, let them laugh, let them frown
You know I'll love you till the moon's upside down
Don't you remember I was always your clown?
Why try to change me now?
Pretending that we'll meet
Each time I turn a corner
I walk a little faster
Pretending life is sweet
'Cause love is around the corner
I walk a little faster
Can't begin to see my future shine as yet
No sign as yet, you're mine as yet
Rushing toward a face I can't divine as yet
Keep bumping into walls, taking lots of falls
But even though I meet
At each and every corner
With nothing but disaster
I set my chin a little higher, hope a little longer
Build a little stronger castle in the air
And thinking you'll be there
I walk a little faster
I'm in love againand the feelings not new
Yes, I know the signs and I know what to do
It's a highway that I've traveled trough before
So I know all the curves and I've come back for more
I'm alive again, I can wake up and sing
Nothing bores me now, I enjoy everything
Here I go again, the way that I always do
I'm in love again, all over again with you
I have a feeling that beneath the little halo on your noble head
There lies a thought or two the devil might be interested to know
You're like the finish of a novel that I'll finally have
to take to bed
You fascinate me so
I feel like Christopher Columbus when I'm near
enough to contemplate
The sweet geography descending from your
eyebrow to your toe
The possibilities are more than I can
possibly enumerate
That's why you fascinate me so
So sermonize and preach to me
Make sure your sanctimonious little speech to me
But oh my darling, you'll forgive my inability
to concentrate
I think I'm dealing with a powder keg that's just
about to blow
Will the end result deflate me or will you
annihilate me?
You fascinate me so
You aggravate me
You irritate me
You fascinate me so!
Out of the tree of life I just picked me a plum
You came along and everything's startin' to hum
Still, it's a real good bet, the best is yet to come
Best is yet to come and babe, won't that be fine?
You think you've seen the sun, but you ain't seen it shine
Wait till the warm-up's underway
Wait till our lips have met
And wait till you see that sunshine day
You ain't seen nothin' yet
The best is yet to come and babe, won't it be fine?
Best is yet to come, come the day you're mine
Come the day you're mine
I'm gonna teach you to fly
We've only tasted the wine
We're gonna drain the cup dry
Wait till your charms are right for these arms to surround
You think you've flown before, but baby, you ain't left the ground
Wait till you're locked in my embrace
Wait till I draw you near
Wait till you see that sunshine place
Ain't nothin' like it here
The best is yet to come and babe, won't it be fine?
The best is yet to come, come the day you're mine
Come the day you're mine
And you're gonna be mine
I live my love, I live my love
And that’s the only way that I can give my love
Though some need foolish games, that clutter
and contrive their love
The only thing I need is you, to keep my love alive
my love
I live my love, i live my love and pray my love
Your love will grown like mine from day to day
my love
The only thing I ask is never to doubt my love
For I could never face this humdrum world with
out your love
And should it come to pass that you would
always be my love
Then come my love, come live my love with me
Then was then and now is now
Don’t look back, you can’t look back somehow
Sweet was sweet but not so bitter now
Then was then and now is now
You forgive and I will too
Let’s forget unhappy times we knew
We’ll come out all shiny bright and new
Then was then and now is now
Now, now we can win
No matter what might have been
Now we can begin again, for then was then
And now is now
I'm gonna laugh you right out of my life
Laugh, and forget this affair
Guess I was foolish to care so
I'm gonna dance you right out of my dreams
Try to be carefree and gay
I guess I'll learn to play the part
Because when our friends begin that
Heartless rumor
I know I'll really need my sense of humor
I'm gonna laugh you right out of my life,
Make it a beautiful joke
No one will know you broke my heart
But if I find you and I really meant that
last goodbye
Then I'm gonna laugh so hard I'll cry
I've got your number
I know you inside out
You ain't no Eagle Scout
You're all at sea
Oh yes, you brag a lot
Wave your own flag a lot
But you're unsure a lot
You're a lot like me, oh
I've got your number
And what you're looking for
And what you're looking for
Just suits me fine
We'll break the rules a lot
We'll be damn fools a lot
But then why should we not
How could we not combine when
I've got your number
And I've got the glow you've got
I've got your number
And more
So go ahead and pick a number
From 1 to 10
You're losing streak is over
I can't win again
And here's the punchline
You've got mine
Hey look me over, lend me an ear,
Fresh out of clover, mortgaged up to here
But don't pass the plate folks, don't pass the cup
I figure whenever you're down and out
The only way is up
And I'll be up like a rose bud, high on the vine
Don't thumb your nose bud, take a tip from mine
I'm a little bit short of the elbow room
But let me get me some
And look out world, here I come
Everybody better spread out
When I head out I'll need lots of space
Nothing more will ever throw me
'Cause you'll know me by my laughing face
From trouble I'm gonna stay aloof
And just in case you need more proof
Hey look me over . . .
Please don't go, my love,
I'm frightened of too many tomorrows
Around this haunted place
If I set you free, what's left for me?
Too many tomorrows
I simply cannot face
Those passionate words we find
To grieve each other
Do not mean we'll leave each other
So come fill my arms and we'll forget
The meaningless sorrows
Each time we say we're through
Darling, can't you see, there can't ever be
Too many tomorrows
If you stay with me
Where am I going and what will I find?
What's in this grab-bag that I call my mind?
What am I doing alone on the shelf?
Ain't it a shame, but no-one's to blame but myself
Which way is clear
When you've lost your way year after year
Do I keep falling in love for just the kick of it?
Staggering through the thin and thick of it
Hating each old and tired trick of it
Know what I am, I'm good and sick of it
Where am I going, why do I care?
Run to the Bronx or Washington Square
No matter where I run,I meet myself there
Looking inside me
What do I see?
Anger and hope and doubt
What am I all about?
And where am I going?
You tell me
So these are the ropes, the tricks of the trade, the
rules of the road
You're one of the dopes for whom they were
made, the rules of the road.
You follow that kiss and recklessly miss a bend of
the road
Then suddenly this, the end of the road
So love is a hoax, a glittering string of little white lies
But these are the jokes and what if they bring the
tears to your eyes
Well, love often shows a funny return, the brighter
it glows, the longer you burn
And Lord only knows, love has little concern for the fools of the road!
But that's how it goes, you live and you learn, the
rules of the road

Magical and timeless all the way through. Favorite track would be The Aubergine of the Sun, except there's that part in the middle of Adrift where you start listening as a human and end up a one-eyed snail scrunching reality up into melting origami puzzles. a
